Hey all, just wanted to address a topic that's been annoying/amusing me for, oh ... the past four months or so.
I'm sure you're all familiar with the leet druid in our guild, Fere. However, most of you don't seem to be familiar with how to pronounce this simple, one-syllable name over vent.
Fere's name is pronounced just like the word FEAR. It rhymes with the words "here" and "gear" (a word I'm sure all of you have no problem saying).
It is NOT pronounced:
-Fairy
-Feary
-Fair
Not to be a douchebag or anything; it's funny to hear people coming up with the most fucked up ways to say his name (silly Americans!). I just thought I'd point it out as a little service to my buddy Fere. |

I've mentioned this in raid chat and guild chat a number of times. Apparently it is a tough concept, what with the long vowels, complex sound combinations and all that.
Hopefully this thread will shed some light on the verbal desecration of Fere's name in ventrillo. |
